Found an article discussing the similarities between Soviet-era/Eastern Bloc community design, communist retoric and the New Urbanists influences on late 20th Century urban and suburban redevelopment. It isn't that deep, but the photos are cool and their are some "global" similarities that have little to do with "communism" as a poltical structure and more incommon with the influence of smart design and thoughtful planning.
